چکیده
Abstract: Aim Investigating whether wild fish accept residual ration from cage farming to the point of changing their diet and fish-food interaction network. Methods The species, Astyanax lacustris, Iheringichthys labrosus, Leporinus amblyrhynchus, Schizodon nasutus Steindachnerina insculpta, bred in Chavantes Reservoir, Upper Paraná basin, was evaluated. Samples were collected on a monthly basis - March 2008 February 2009 around (NC) reference site (RS) free influence activity. Results analyzed through graphs metrics complex network analysis, Permutational analysis variance. total number 641 individuals belonging all five species collected, 292 NC 349 RS. amount food items consumed by them comprised 24 22 has shown nested pattern two evaluated areas, which evidenced generalist structure this interaction. Connectance values mean degree networks low. Detritus most representative item both sampling sites. Three (A. S. I. labrosus) had diet. Residual fourth NC. It also for A. lacustris nasutus. Conclusions have that activity can trophic interactions aquatic systems, as well ability nasutus, L. labrosus take advantage new environment.

Sea-cage Fish Farming and Declines of Wild Fish
It has often been observed that after sea-cage fish farming begins in a coastal area, nearby wild fish populations steadily or precipitously decline due to elevated levels of pathogens and parasites. Such declines can be understood using three methods, in increasing level of mathematical difficulty: (1) an intuitive approach based on the inverse-square law of radiation applied to parasite trans...
متن کاملCharacterization of manures from fish cage farming in Chile.
This study aims to characterize salmonid manures and to determine their potential use in agricultural soils. Sampling was carried out below salmon and trout cages in farms located in lakes and in the sea in the South of Chile during 2002-2003. Manure was analyzed for macronutrients, micronutrients and heavy metals. Results showed a high variability between samples and differences between sea an...
متن کاملImpact of Fish Farming on Phosphorus in Reservoir Sediments
Fish farming has seriously influenced the aquatic environment in Sancha reservoir in SW China since 1985 and has been strongly restricted since 2005. Thus, phosphorus speciation in a sediment core dated between 1945 and 2010 at cm-resolution and in surface sediments from Sancha reservoir may allow us track how fish farming impacts phosphorus dynamics in lake sediments. Fish farming shifts the m...
متن کاملCarotenoids in ornamental fish farming
The aquaculture industry has grown dramatically in recent years, with a multimillion-dollar market. There are a variety of freshwater fish, marine fish, mollusks, and ornamental fish cultivated in this industry. The pigment and coloring of ornamental fish are important characteristics for marketing. In edible fish, carotenoids are responsible for the pigmentation of body tissue, while in ...
